Successful People

I read a great book yesterday, called "The Go-Giver" by Bob Burg and John David Mann.  It is a parable that teaches five principles for being successful in whatever you set out to do.  Here are the principles -- but you should read the book.  They teach by storytelling, which is one of the best ways to help you remember.
  1. Your true worth is determined by how much more you give in value than you take in payment.
  2. Your income is determined by how many people you serve and how well you serve them.
  3. Your influence is determined by how abundantly you place other people's interests first.
  4. The most valuable gift you have to offer is yourself.
  5. The key to successful giving is to stay open to receiving.
How much of yourself are you giving away?  What do you do that puts others' interests before your own?
Think of how much better your driving experience would be if everyone decided that it would be ok for someone to go in front of them on the road.  I might even enjoy driving in Houston again!
